Longboat Key Fire Rescue Partners with Youthful Aging to Launch ‘Longboat Link’

Longboat Key Fire Rescue is expanding its CARE Program (Community, Assistance, Research, Education) with a new resource designed to help residents live independently while reducing unnecessary 911 calls and ER visits.

The new service, Longboat Link, is powered by Johns Hopkins Guided Care® and delivered in partnership with Youthful Aging Home Care. The program connects residents with preventive support, health guidance, and follow-up after emergency calls, helping older adults stay safer, healthier, and in their homes longer.

“Many seniors call 911 because they don’t know where else to turn,” said Fire Chief Paul Dezzi. “Longboat Link connects them with the right services and resources, so they get the support they need without putting their independence at risk.”

How It Works

• Free Community Membership for all residents: unlimited support calls, emergency medical folder, first-responder window decal, and follow-up after 911 calls.

• Optional paid tiers: quarterly in-home health assessments or fully personalized wellness planning with health coaching.

Additional services include memory screenings, home safety checks, chronic disease management, nutrition counseling, and fitness programs.

“Longboat Link brings Johns Hopkins’ proven approach to our community,” said Nicci Lieberman, president of Youthful Aging. “It’s like an invisible safety net for aging in place.”

You’re invited to learn more about this program as Youthful Aging Home Care host a special presentation on November 6, from 10am – 11:30am at Longboat Key Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road. Free membership kits will be available at the event.
