ArtSELF: Free Your Mind (Theater Workshop)

The Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation hosts a hands-on exploration of personal empowerment at the Braden River Library with ArtSELF: Free Your Mind. Teaching artist Maria Schaedler-Luera leads the free theater-based wellness workshop, which requires no prior stage experience. The session draws upon the Rainbow of Desire techniques developed by Brazilian activist Augusto Boal, utilizing physical and mental exercises to identify internal barriers and restrictive everyday patterns. Participants engage in interactive, self-reflective activities designed to clarify their own personal narratives and build tools for breaking cycles of negative thinking.
