Behind The Scenes at the Sarasota Opera House

Guide Kathryn Chesley leads a deep dive into the theatrical infrastructure of a local landmark during this excursion by Discover Sarasota Tours. The itinerary begins with an examination of the Sarasota Opera House's extensive costume collection, housed securely in the company's private vault. Opera staff then take over for a backstage walkthrough of the historic performance hall, detailing the mechanical operations and architectural history of the venue. The morning concludes with a family-style Mediterranean lunch at Clasico Italian Chophouse, where patrons can discuss the technical mechanics of mounting a grand opera.
