Cyanotype & Watercolor: Painting with the Sun

The downtown Sarasota campus of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens hosts a hands-on workshop focused on cyanotype and watercolor techniques. Instructors guide participants in using sunlight to expose chemically treated paper, creating striking blue-and-white botanical silhouettes. The class then explores how to incorporate watercolor washes to add depth and detail to the solar prints. Held within the historic bayside gardens, the session provides artists of all skill levels with the materials and guidance needed to blend natural light with traditional painting methods.
