The Historic Spanish Point campus of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens alters its coastal trails for this Halloween-themed evening light display. Technicians rig the pioneer-era heritage site and surrounding jungle foliage with colorful landscape lighting, casting the native bromeliads and massive banyan trees in stark shadows. The self-guided walking route features glowing structural installations, including illuminated web designs and large-scale skeleton figures integrated directly into the botanical environment. Rather than relying on actors for sudden frights, the outdoor event uses theatrical lighting design and ambient sound to manipulate the natural coastal hammock into an eerie, immersive environment.
