Mixon Farms Market

Mixon Fruit Farms sold citrus, juice and orange-and-vanilla swirl ice cream on this Bradenton property from 1939 until it closed in 2023, and Manatee County bought the land in 2025 to preserve its agricultural heritage. The Mixon Farms market is the most visible result: after a monthly trial run last spring, it became a weekly season of local growers, bakers and makers selling produce, eggs, meat, plants, candles, jewelry and art, with coffee, yoga and live music mixed into the lineup. The grounds now also hold a barn-themed playground and a putt-putt course beside the preserved wedding venue.
