MOD Weekend 2026: Greenbriar Neighborhood Homes and Walking Tour

This neighborhood walking tour, a key component of Architecture Sarasota's MOD Weekend, explores a concentrated enclave of mid-century residential design. The Greenbriar neighborhood serves as a living exhibition of how the Sarasota School of Architecture adapted modernism for middle-class, single-family housing. Guides walk attendees past specific properties, pointing out the passive cooling strategies, deep overhangs, and integration of indoor and outdoor living spaces characteristic of the movement. It provides an intimate, street-level understanding of how these architectural ideals shaped everyday domestic life in the mid-twentieth century.
