MOD Weekend 2026: Sarasota Design Conference and Guided Shuttle Tour

This full-day symposium and transit tour, organized by Architecture Sarasota, examines the structural innovations and lasting impact of the Sarasota School of Architecture. Beginning at the Victor Lundy-designed St. Paul Lutheran Church—a masterpiece of soaring, tent-like timber construction—the conference features lectures by historians and preservationists unpacking the movement's 100-year history. Following the talks, attendees board shuttles for a curated tour of essential mid-century modern properties. The combination of academic discourse and on-site observation illustrates exactly how architects adapted modernism to the Florida heat.
