Movies Under the Stars: Hocus Pocus

The outdoor lawn at The Green at UTC turns into a makeshift cinema for a screening of Hocus Pocus, the 1993 Disney comedy directed by Kenny Ortega. The cult-classic film follows three resurrected Salem witches, played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, as they attempt to steal youth from local children on Halloween night. Families spread out on the grass with blankets and lawn chairs while the movie projects onto a large screen. The venue's surrounding restaurants often supply takeout for the audience as the Sanderson sisters run amok through late-twentieth-century Massachusetts.
