School Board Meeting-Landings Board Chambers

Votes are the difference. At its regular business meetings the five-member board that governs Sarasota County Schools acts on the contracts, policies and boundary changes it has talked through in work sessions, and it is also where members of the public address the board directly. Comments can be made in person in the chambers at the Landings or submitted by email on the day before or the day of the meeting. The board voted over the summer to return these meetings to an evening start, which makes attendance easier for working parents and teachers. Agendas and supporting documents are posted on the district's online portal.
