Shell & Tell, The Party!

Florida shellfish growers join Lefty's Oyster & Seafood Bar for Shell & Tell, The Party!, which the restaurant is staging with the Florida Shellfish Aquaculture Association and the state's Fresh From Florida program. The association supports the state's clam and oyster farmers through advocacy and education. Lefty's, in Sarasota's Rosemary District, makes a fitting host: it opened in the former Mandeville Beer Garden building, sources Cedar Key clams and Gulf grouper locally, and serves oysters steamed, grilled, New Orleans-style and Rockefeller-style from beds as far apart as Apalachicola and Massachusetts.
