SMH-Sarasota: Stroke Wellness Program

Modeled after the National Stroke Association’s LEAP framework, this monthly support and education gathering at the Clark Road Health Care Center focuses on long-term recovery and neurological health. Sarasota Memorial Health Care System staff lead the session, which incorporates three distinct phases. Participants begin with brief movement and stretching exercises, followed by a focused discussion on requested educational topics related to stroke management. The final segment opens the floor for survivors and caregivers to share their experiences and ask questions of trained medical personnel and peer mentors. The program encourages attendees to make ongoing education and community connection an active part of their treatment plans.
