We’re Doomed: An Improvised Horror Movie

The resident comedy ensemble at Florida Studio Theatre creates a spontaneous slasher film based on audience suggestions in Bowne’s Lab. The performers construct a scary-movie narrative complete with classic genre tropes, suspenseful action, and over-the-top character deaths. Throughout the unscripted narrative, the audience acts as the controller, dictating when the actors must rewind, fast-forward, or pause the unfolding action. The spontaneous performance relies on quick character work and physical comedy to parody cinematic horror conventions, building to a chaotic climax where the cast attempts to survive a monster or killer entirely invented on the spot.
