2027 Hiss Award Celebration

Following the formal lecture, Architecture Sarasota hosts an evening reception to honor the recipient of the Philip Hiss Award. Named for the developer who catalyzed the Sarasota School of Architecture, the prize recognizes contemporary practitioners and advocates who advance climate-adapted, innovative design. The ticketed gathering functions as the social pinnacle of the organization’s annual symposium, allowing local design professionals, historians, and preservationists to interact directly with the laureate. Rather than a standard academic forum, the celebration emphasizes community networking and the ongoing effort to integrate modernist architectural principles into future Gulf Coast development.
