A Motown Christmas

Westcoast Black Theatre – Donelly Theater Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe revives its signature holiday revue, A Motown Christmas, inside the Donelly Theater. Conceived by founder Nate Jacobs, the production fuses traditional Christmas carols with the defining rhythm-and-blues arrangements of the iconic Detroit record label. The ensemble cast delivers tight vocal harmonies and synchronized choreography, channeling the performance styles of artists like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, and The Jackson 5. Backed by a live band, the fast-paced show relies on the soulful energy and precise musicality that characterized the classic Motown sound, offering a distinct alternative to standard seasonal choral concerts.
