Al Ernst & The Jester Dogs

Stand-up, not music, is on the bill at Fogartyville, where touring comic Al Ernst headlines a benefit called Laughter Saves Paws. Billed as "Deacon Al," Ernst is a national club headliner and a regular on SiriusXM; his "Jester Dogs" for the night are two Sarasota-area comics, Erika Ivanyi and Greg Schwartz, and the promoter, Three Encore, is hinting at an unannounced guest or two. Proceeds go to Kathy's K9s Dog Rescue and Shelter. Fogartyville is the small listening room attached to community radio station WSLR 96.5, a hall where talking during the act is frowned on, which suits a comedy bill better than most bars do.
