A lunchtime gallery talk with the artist herself. Eszter Sziksz, the Hungarian-born printmaker who teaches at Ringling College and was recently named a Fulbright U.S. Scholar, walks through Seeking, I Don't Know What I'm Looking For (And I Hope I Never Find It), her first solo museum exhibition, installed in the second-floor B. Claire Rusen Gallery. The work is a hanging forest of wax-paper strands, each blind-embossed with a question lifted from Plato, Camus, Derrida or Heidegger, with magnifying glasses supplied for the reading. Curator Lacie Barbour has described the piece as completed by visitors' reactions rather than by the artist. Sziksz's earlier series printed family portraits in ice, sand and ash and let them vanish. Part of the museum's Art at Noon series, which gathers in the Surkis & Elona lobby.
