The vocal power of the 1960s takes focus in BEEHIVE – The 60s Musical at the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe. Directed by Jim Weaver, the ensemble-driven production frames a decade of rapid social transformation through the music of the female artists who defined it. The cast moves through a heavy catalog of hits made famous by figures like Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, and Tina Turner. Playing in The Donelly Theatre, the staging traces the evolution of women's public voices, matching the shifting fashion and political undertones of the era with high-energy choreography.
