Trapped in a Texas airport following a miscarriage, a woman faces intense questioning from a court-appointed lawyer in this stark contemporary play by Arlene Hutton. The Venice Theatre mounts the two-hander in the intimate Pinkerton Theatre, emphasizing the inescapable tension of the interrogation. Blood of the Lamb relies on rapid, adversarial dialogue to explore the chilling intersection of maternal healthcare, state law, and individual bodily autonomy without relying on heavy set pieces.
