Family Art Making

The Ringling opens its MakerSpace to children and their parents for a free, hands-on crafting session on Saturday morning. The self-guided program encourages families to experiment with various materials and artistic techniques inspired by the museum's current exhibitions. Instructors provide the supplies and a conceptual starting point, but the creative direction is entirely up to the participants. The casual environment allows kids of all ages to engage with visual art through physical creation, from painting and drawing to basic sculptural work. The drop-in format serves as an accessible, low-pressure introduction to the museum campus, turning passive observation into active participation.
