Florida-Friendly Landscaping™: Planting Trees for the Suncoast

Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Library on Newtown Boulevard is the setting for a UF/IFAS Extension talk on putting the right tree in the right yard. The session covers which species suit the Suncoast and which to leave at the nursery, then explains how to choose, plant and tend a tree, from native canopy trees to flowering and fruit- or nut-bearing ones. Participating households take home a native tree. Registration is required and handled through Eventbrite; the library's listing has the particulars.
