From Inspiration to Implementation: Thomas Bercy

Austin-based architect Thomas Bercy outlines his studio's approach to merging structural design with ecological restoration. In this lecture organized by Architecture Sarasota, the co-founder of Bercy Chen Studio details the practical steps required to move from conceptual sketches to finished buildings. Bercy focuses on projects that incorporate indigenous landscaping, passive cooling, and vernacular building traditions into modern urban contexts. The talk addresses the specific logistical challenges of sustainable design, breaking down the material sourcing, environmental assessments, and engineering solutions necessary to execute complex geometric structures.
