Homeschool Third Thursdays

Targeting families seeking interdisciplinary arts instruction, this monthly educational session at The Ringling integrates object-based inquiry with hands-on studio work. Museum educators lead students through the Museum of Art galleries to examine specific paintings, historic furniture, or Asian ceramics before transitioning to the classroom for related creative projects. Each meeting centers on a distinct historical era, technical process, or compositional principle, encouraging home-educated students to analyze source materials firsthand. The curriculum connects visual observation to broader humanities topics, providing structured critique and art-making exercises tailored to multi-age groups without the didactic rigidity of traditional classroom tours.
