Les Liaisons Dangereuses

Filmed live on stage in London, this National Theatre Live broadcast presents Christopher Hampton’s adaptation of the notorious French novel. Directed by Marianne Elliott, the production stars Lesley Manville as the Marquise de Merteuil and Aidan Turner as the Vicomte de Valmont. The aristocratic former lovers turn seduction into a weapon, using deceit and sexual gamesmanship to destroy the reputations of those around them. The Ringling screening allows local audiences to see Elliott’s intricate revival of a classic narrative, capturing the tense social warfare and collapsing alliances of the Parisian elite just before the French Revolution.
