“Looking Back to Look Forward: An Evening of Theater & Folk Music”

Playwright Talene Monahon, a Pulitzer Prize finalist for Meet the Cartozians and the Hermitage's 2026 McNally Fellow, and Tommy Lubben, a founding member of the Nashville folk band the Lubben Brothers, take the room at Hermitage Beach on Manasota Key. Each speaks about the working methods behind their art and how history shapes it: Monahon from the theater, Lubben from the American Storytellers series he leads with Sarasota's Key Chorale, harmonica in hand. The program runs about an hour without intermission, and registration through the Hermitage Artist Retreat is required because space is limited.
