Platters Coasters & Drifters

Three defining vocal groups of the 1950s and 1960s share the stage at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall for an evening of classic doo-wop, R&B, and early rock and roll. The touring showcase features current iterations of The Platters, The Coasters, and The Drifters, delivering the tight, multi-part harmonies and synchronized choreography that established the foundational sound of American pop radio. The setlist relies on the groups' sprawling catalogs of enduring hits, from soaring romantic ballads to upbeat, comedic novelty tracks. The concert provides a polished, nostalgic retrospective of the specific vocal mechanics that dominated the charts before the British Invasion.
