Sam Morrow Band

Sam Morrow made his newest album, Southern Boogie, mostly live in Austin with producer Jonathan Tyler: two guitars, bass, keys and drums through tube amps, no click track, nothing polished away. The singer and guitarist has spent several albums, among them Concrete & Mud and Gettin' By on Gettin' Down, refining a blend of roadhouse rock and roll, bluesy R&B and country-flavored funk, and his band plays it amplified and groove-forward. Fogartyville describes its room as a listening room, which fits a band that wanted its record to sound like players in a room.
