The Lee Boys with opener Tony Tyler

Miami's acclaimed sacred steel ensemble brings its ecstatic, high-energy gospel tradition to Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center. The Lee Boys use pedal and lap steel guitars to drive their African-American religious music, creating a soaring, distorted sound that blurs the line between church worship and blistering blues-rock. Recently honored with the Florida Folk Heritage Award, the family band performs with intense, improvisational fire. Southern rock and soul musician Tony Tyler opens the evening, setting the stage for a deeply rooted, highly rhythmic performance designed to get the entire room moving.
