The Orchid Show 2026: Christian Sampson

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens integrates contemporary art with botanical science in its annual orchid exhibition, this year featuring the work of multimedia artist Christian Sampson. Installed throughout the tropical conservatory, Sampson’s site-specific light and shadow projections interact directly with the garden's extensive collection of living orchids. The exhibition explores themes of ephemerality and natural geometry, using the architecture of the greenhouse and the complex structures of the blooms as a canvas for color and illumination. This juxtaposition of horticultural displays and optical art offers a distinct visual interpretation of Selby’s living botanical archives.
