The Vampire Circus

A touring hybrid of dark cabaret and acrobatics takes over the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. Inspired by the macabre visual style of Tim Burton and the physical feats of Cirque du Soleil, the production follows a nineteenth-century Bohemian traveling circus acting as a cover for Count Dracula. The international cast of contortionists, jugglers, and aerialists perform high-altitude stunts intertwined with physical comedy and theatrical illusions. The staging relies on gothic set pieces and ominous lighting to frame the athletic performances, creating a theatrical spectacle that balances eerie atmosphere with traditional circus disciplines.
