American Youth Cup Series I

Junior rowing teams from across the nation align their shells at the starting line of Nathan Benderson Park for the first leg of the American Youth Cup Series. Hosted by Sarasota Crew, the regatta pushes high school–aged athletes through grueling 2,000-meter sprints on the facility's internationally recognized course. The competition demands flawless synchronization and explosive cardiovascular exertion as sweep rowers and scullers battle for fractions of a second. Coaches monitor stroke rates from the shoreline while spectators fill the grandstands, watching the narrow boats surge past the floating markers toward the finishing tower.
