Artist Series Concerts: Ehnes Quartet with special guest Jonathan Vinocour, viola

Violinist James Ehnes leads his namesake ensemble through a dense romantic program for the Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota. The quartet is joined at First Congregational United Church of Christ by San Francisco Symphony principal violist Jonathan Vinocour. The expanded lineup tackles two major works by Johannes Brahms: the String Quintets Op. 88 and Op. 111. The addition of a second viola thickens the harmonic texture, demanding precision and deep collaborative listening from the players.
