Chanticleer Holiday Concert

The pristine, multi-layered harmonies of Chanticleer resonate through the Sarasota Opera House as the Grammy-winning vocal ensemble delivers its signature seasonal program. Comprising twelve male singers whose ranges span from booming bass to soaring soprano, the San Francisco-based collective functions as a flawless, unaccompanied human orchestra. Their holiday repertoire spans centuries, smoothly transitioning from austere Renaissance motets and traditional European carols to intricate jazz arrangements and spirituals. The unamplified performance relies entirely on the immaculate blend and flawless intonation of the vocalists, offering a rigorously disciplined, deeply contemplative alternative to the bombast of typical winter pops concerts.
