Lifelong Arts Pop-Up Workshops

Teaching artists at The Ringling host this focused, single-session visual art workshop tailored specifically for older adults seeking to experiment with fine arts techniques. Utilizing non-intimidating studio methods—such as expressive watercolor washes, torn-paper collage, or graphite line drawing—the session draws immediate inspiration from the classical statuary, flora, and architectural details found across the museum grounds. Instructors provide individual guidance on color theory, spatial composition, and material handling, allowing participants of varying physical dexterities to create a finished piece in a single sitting. The informal studio setting fosters creative confidence, fine-motor agility, and social connection through purposeful hands-on art-making.
