Music Compound’s Album Ensemble to Perform Michael Jackson’s, Thriller

Students and instructors from Music Compound attempt a track-by-track recreation of Michael Jackson's monumental pop record. The Album Ensemble features teenage and adult musicians parsing the complex vocal arrangements and synth-heavy production of the 1982 release, tackling everything from the propulsive bassline of "Billie Jean" to the rhythmic intricacies of "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'." The performance demands intense collaboration from the amateur players as they emulate the exacting studio standards of Quincy Jones and Jackson's original session musicians.
