Mysteries to Die For Book Club: “Prayer of the Dragon” by Eliot Pattison

The Mysteries to Die For Book Club meets at Bookstore1Sarasota to discuss Eliot Pattison’s Prayer of the Dragon. The group unpacks the fifth novel in Pattison’s Inspector Shan series, which follows an exiled Chinese investigator living among Tibetan monks. The conversation will focus on how the author weaves the systemic cultural tensions of modern Tibet into the framework of a procedural murder mystery involving a remote village and a series of ritualistic killings. The moderator-led discussion examines both the intricate plotting and the stark, high-altitude setting that defines the thriller.
