Every piece in Shopliftable is meant to be small enough to steal, the premise that opened 502 Gallery and that has now reached its fifth installment. The first round capped works at six inches in any direction and gathered ceramics, painting, drawing, photography and kinetic sculpture from more than forty artists, with enough submissions left over to call for a sequel. Co-owner and director Tim Jaeger had tried an early version of the idea at Gaze Modern in the Rosemary District years earlier. The gallery itself is a one-room space in the Burns Court Historic District devoted to small works.
