Side-by-Side

Student and professional musicians share music stands in this side-by-side concert from Sarasota Orchestra, which seats the Youth Philharmonic, the most advanced of the eight Sarasota Youth Orchestras ensembles, among the orchestra's players, with Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero and the full professional ensemble. Alumni of the youth program often name this concert among the high points of their time in the orchestra's education programs, and many say it pushed them toward music careers. The youth orchestras, begun in 1959, draw students from third grade through high school.
