The Allman Betts Family Revival

The descendants of Southern rock royalty convene at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall for The Allman Betts Family Revival. Anchored by Devon Allman and Duane Betts, the sprawling touring ensemble pays direct homage to the legacy of the Allman Brothers Band, specifically the improvisational blues-rock that defined the group's early 1970s output. The performance features a rotating lineup of guest guitarists and vocalists sitting in for extended jams, recreating the complex, dual-drummer grooves and harmonized twin-lead guitar solos characteristic of the original act. The evening functions as a highly technical, volume-heavy celebration of the foundational architecture of jam-band music.
