The Garbologists by Lindsay Joelle

A garbage truck cab becomes a tight space for clashing perspectives in Lindsay Joelle's The Garbologists, staged by Urbanite Theatre. The buddy comedy pairs Danny, an old-school, blue-collar sanitation worker, with Marlowe, an Ivy League–educated rookie who just joined his route. As they navigate the streets of New York City and collect what others have thrown away, the two essential workers bicker, bond and practice "mongo"—the secret art of finding treasure in the trash. The production examines the unseen labor that keeps a metropolis running.
