“The Sandbox” Open Mic

An open stage for anyone with two songs or ten minutes of material. The Sandbox is hosted by The Cat Lady, the WSLR 96.5 programmer behind "The Cat's Meow," and runs on the fourth Monday of the month at Fogartyville. Musicians, poets, comics and performance artists of any age sign up at the door; original material is encouraged, covers are allowed, and the house supplies vocal and instrument mics, DIs, a keyboard and a guitar amp. Since the series began, the host has started shuffling the running order so first-timers get slots and spoken word or dance is spread through the night instead of bunched at the end. Non-performers are welcome to sit and listen.
