Art at Noon | Christopher Jones

Curator Christopher Jones steps to the podium at Sarasota Art Museum for a midday lecture exploring contemporary visual culture and lens-based practices. Drawing upon his background directing photography and new media collections, Jones delivers a focused slide presentation and gallery dialogue that examines technical innovations, conceptual frameworks, and thematic threads within current exhibitions. Held in the museum’s repurposed high school auditorium space, the talk bridges scholarly inquiry and public accessibility, unpacking how artists deploy digital manipulation, documentary realism, and structural staging to confront contemporary social realities. A brief question-and-answer period allows attendees to engage directly with curatorial choices and exhibition design.
