Candlelight: Christmas Classics

The soaring, faceted glass windows of St. Boniface Episcopal Church recede into darkness as an array of electric candles lights the stage for this Fever concert. A classically trained string quartet delivers instrumental renditions of popular holiday classics, shifting the focus from vocals to intricate bowing techniques and precise phrasing. The architecture of the Siesta Key venue, originally designed with choral acoustics in mind, amplifies the warmth of the strings. The performance recontextualizes familiar winter standards, offering a contemplative, visually striking alternative to large-scale symphonic holiday pop concerts.
