Creative Practice – Air-Dry Clay Play

Participants shape, score, and sculpt during this hands-on workshop at Art Center Sarasota. Bypassing the need for a kiln, the session focuses on the accessible medium of air-dry clay, teaching foundational hand-building techniques such as coiling and slab construction. The low-pressure environment emphasizes creative experimentation rather than producing a perfect final vessel, making it suited for adults looking to break out of their routine. The instructor provides guidance on texturing and finishing the pieces, which attendees can take home to dry and paint later.
