Free Second Sundays

The Sarasota Art Museum waives its admission fees for a full day of family-oriented programming. Occurring monthly, "Free Second Sundays" opens the contemporary galleries to the public while activating the courtyard and classrooms with specialized events. The schedule typically includes live musical or theatrical performances tailored for younger audiences, alongside hands-on art-making stations run by professional teaching artists. The open-house format removes financial barriers to the institution, encouraging residents to explore the rotating exhibitions, interact with the physical materials in the studio spaces, and experience the repurposed historic high school campus in a highly social, bustling environment.
