Heart of the Beast

Brad Pitt stars in the wilderness thriller Heart of the Beast, directed by David Ayer. Pitt plays James Belmont, a retired Special Forces Command Sergeant Major suffering from PTSD, who crashes his seaplane into a remote Alaskan lake. Stranded miles from civilization, he and his traumatized combat German Shepherd, Odin, must complete a grueling fifty-eight-mile trek to safety. Relying heavily on authentic animal work rather than computer-generated effects, the survival drama strips away Ayer's usual urban action tropes to focus on the quiet, desperate bond between a veteran and his dog.
