Hermitage Sunsets @ Selby Gardens: “New Music Under the Old Oak”

Latvian composer and guitarist Matīss Čudars shares his creative process and original work during this outdoor performance and discussion. Hosted by the Hermitage Artist Retreat on the downtown campus of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, the evening allows audiences to hear from a recent winner of the Hermitage Prize in Composition. Rather than a formal concert, the program is structured as an intimate dialogue about how new music is conceived and refined. As the sun sets over the bay, attendees listen to live selections and gain insight into the artistic mechanics of contemporary composition straight from the musician.
