Jazz Jam SRQ

The Jazz Club of Sarasota hosts its recurring open session for instrumentalists in the Geldbart Auditorium at the downtown Selby Library. Both professional gigging musicians and dedicated amateurs can sign up to sit in and improvise on standard repertoire. The organizers provide a piano, bass, and drum set for the rhythm section, leaving horn players and guitarists to bring their own instruments. The gathering operates as a collaborative laboratory where players test their chops, listen to each other, and build spontaneous arrangements on the bandstand, all while a live audience watches the creative process unfold.
