KARUNA QUARTET CONCERT IN SARASOTA

The Karuna Quartet, recent Gold Medalists at the St. Paul String Quartet Competition, performs at First Presbyterian Church. Formed at The Juilliard School, the young ensemble balances canonical repertoire with contemporary voices, programming Haydn's String Quartet in D Major and Mendelssohn's Op. 44 No. 3 alongside Caroline Shaw's "Blueprint." The acoustic space of the sanctuary highlights the group's tight internal communication and the historical resonance of their instruments, which include an 1864 J.B. Vuillaume violin.
