Madagascar Kids

A quartet of pampered Central Park Zoo animals find themselves stranded in the wild in this youth-oriented stage adaptation produced at the Manatee Performing Arts Center. Based on the DreamWorks animated film, the musical features a cast of young performers taking on the roles of Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, and a crew of militant penguins. The condensed script maintains the frantic pacing and physical comedy of the movie, driven by an upbeat score that includes the hit song "I Like to Move It." The production offers a high-energy, family-friendly narrative about friendship and survival, tailored specifically for the attention spans of younger theatergoers.
